Each individual animal needs a different amount of time to break properly. We don’t ever set a specific timeframe and say your horse will be ready but from experience it usually takes approx 6 weeks. We like all young horses to progress at a pace that they are comfortable with. We are firm believers that its all about finding the proper way to communicate with a young horse. Fear based techniques do not create a trusting relationship between horse and rider.

Once this basic trust is established, it requires only tact and patience to let the horse understand, by gradually accustoming it to bearing greater and greater portions of the weight of its human friend, that no harm will come to it through letting itself be ridden. Developing control over the horse so that grooming, handling hooves, clipping etc can be completed easily is of great importance, we like to return horses to owners confident that the horse is safe in day-to-day routine.
